We’re celebrating and supporting unpaid carers this Carers Week and all year. If you’re caring for someone get in touch to find out how we could help you

This Carers Week and throughout the year we work to ensure unpaid family and friend carers are recognised and supported in the community – the theme of this year’s Carers Week (5th – 11th June 2023).

During Carers Week we are offered a mix of events for unpaid carers in Hertfordshire to join in with – online, such as a quiz night, and in venues around the county. There were events to get information to support you in your caring role as well as opportunities to have a break, socialise with other carers or learn a new skill such as photography.

People who provide unpaid care or support to someone who is ill, disabled, elderly or for another reason, and the wider community, were encouraged by Carers UK to write to their local MP calling for the UK Government to deliver co-ordinated cross-Government action to better identify and support unpaid carers. There is a template of a letter that you can send on the Carers UK website at www.carersuk.org/news-and-campaigns/our-campaigns/carers-week/

We encourage family and friend carers who aren’t already registered with us to do so as we will then be able to provide you with information and connect you to support to help you in your caring role.

To get in touch with us you can email us at contact@carersinherts.org.uk or call 01992 58 69 69.
