Services for Carers whose first language is not English

How we support carers who do not have English as their first language.

We can arrange access to Languageline (www.languageline.co.uk) which provides an interpretation service over the phone. In order to provide this service, all that is required is the name and phone number of the carer wanting to speak to us, the name of their language and an agreed time for the call. The carer will be rung as arranged with an interpreter on the line who will interpret as a conversation takes place between the Carers in Hertfordshire worker and the carer.

We are also able to arrange access to interpretation services where a face to face meeting is required. This can be over the phone via Languageline or with an interpreter present (by pre-arrangement).
