As 2025 comes to a close, we want to wish unpaid family and friend carers, our volunteers, and supporters a happy and safe festive season. If you look after someone who is ill, disabled, elderly, or has another care need, and they or you are in Hertfordshire, or your caring role has ended in the last three years, remember we are here for you. Our aim is to ensure you are identified, informed, supported, and heard.
The festive season can be joyful as well as bring stress and challenges. To help we have put together a factsheet with tips to help carers navigate the holiday period, including details of organisations offering advice and support, and their opening hours. It is available at Festive Tips for Carers which is on our Factsheets web page.
We also have some light-hearted events planned over the next few weeks, including a catch up and relaxation session online on Saturday 27th December 2025. Stay up to date with all our events on our events page or contact us.
Our Advisors are available throughout the festive break (except bank holidays and weekends). You can contact us via email to contact@carersinherts.org.uk or call 01992 58 69 69 (Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and 9am to 4pm on Fridays).
This time of year often inspires reflection and planning. Why not take a moment to think about your caring role and your own wellbeing? Explore our services, which include mentoring, carers’ groups, and workshops. Ask us how we can help you!
If you’re spending the holidays alone, could you reach out to someone in a similar situation? Or, if you know someone who might be on their own, consider inviting them to join you. Small gestures make a big difference.
We will be reflecting on the results of our 2025 Carers’ Survey – thank you to everyone who took part. 2026 promises to be a busy and exciting year as we continue celebrating our 30th anniversary and begin preparing our next three-year strategy for 2027.
Thank you to all the businesses, organisations, and individuals who have supported us through volunteering, fundraising, or donations. Your kindness makes a vital difference to carers of all ages.
With over 46,000 carers and former carers registered with us, and thousands more still hidden, we look forward to working with you and our partners in the year ahead.
