Reassurance Following Today’s Local Government Reorganisation Announcement

Wondering what the announcement about Local Government Regorganisation means for you? There's no need to panic - nothing is changing yet.

We know today’s announcement about local government reorganisation may leave some carers wondering what it means for them and the people they support.

At this stage, there are no immediate changes to the support available to carers in Hertfordshire. Services will continue to operate while plans are developed, and any future changes will take time to implement.

If you are an unpaid carer, our advice is simple: continue accessing the support, information and services you currently use.

Carers in Hertfordshire will continue to:

  • Support unpaid carers across the county
  • Keep carers informed about any developments that affect them
  • Represent carers’ voices as plans progress
  • Work with partners to ensure carers’ needs remain a priority

“Carers are the quiet strength at the heart of our communities. Every day they make a difference through their dedication, resilience and compassion.” – Michèle Stokes, Chief Exec, Carers in Hertfordshire

We recognise that uncertainty can be worrying but carers should not feel they need to take any action at this time.
