Calling male carers, we would appreciate your feedback about a support group we offer and input about our workshops and events.

Since December 2019, we have had a support group for male carers – initially it met monthly at the South Hill Centre in Hemel Hempstead. Then because of the coronavirus pandemic the group paused for a while, until September 2020, when it restarted online, with monthly meetings on Zoom.

The group meets on the last Tuesday of the month from 1.30pm - 2.30pm. We are asking male carers to complete a survey to help us decide whether we return to meeting in Hemel Hempstead, continue online meetings or a mix of both. We will also review preferences over when to hold the meetings. You can complete the short survey at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/YRNC6PK and have until Monday 13th December 2021 to take part.

Our Carers Learning and Development Team are also looking for male carers to join a focus group and attend a one-off meeting on Zoom to discuss what we can do to improve male carers’ engagement in our workshops and events. For example, if there are any topics or activities, we should organise that would be of interest to male carers. If you would like to be involved, please contact Laura Mitchelmore on or call 01992 58 69 69 to express an interest. We are looking at holding the meeting on the evening of Monday 13th December 2021.
