mayor of hertford 2019 portrait webThe Mayor of Hertford, Cllr Rosemary Bolton has chosen us as one of the charities she is fundraising for during her year as Mayor.

Cllr Bolton took up the role in May 2019 and serves until May 2020. There are already a couple of fundraising events planned – a Teddy Bear’s Picnic and Classic Car Show at Hertford Castle.

Cllr Bolton said: "I am delighted to nominate Carers in Hertfordshire as one of the charities I am supporting this year. This is an excellent and worthwhile charity, which achieves so much with very little funding. I’m sure that most households in Hertfordshire either have a carer or former carer in them, or know someone close who is or was a carer. As a former young carer myself, I wish I’d had access to such a helpful charity and I appreciate the high quality support and guidance that they offer, irrespective of age or circumstances. Please help me support them."

The first event planned is Cars at the Castle at Hertford Castle on Sunday 23rd June. The event takes place from 12pm to 4pm and there will be live music, a bouncy castle and food and drink.

The Teddy Bear’s Picnic also takes place at Hertford Castle on Sunday 21st July 2019 from 12pm to 4pm. There will be music from a brass band, water activities, a teddy bear hunt and more.

Both events are free entry, but we will be there with a fundraising and awareness stand – if anyone wants to volunteer to help us on either day please get in touch and call 01992 58 69 69 or email
