If you shop at Co-op food stores we could be receiving a financial boost at no extra cost to you that could help us provide information to unpaid family and friend carers and reduce isolation.

We have been selected to benefit from the Co-op Local Community Fund and we could receive free donations when Co-op members shop at Co-op food stores. Any money raised is to go towards the costs of producing and distributing our magazine Carewaves.

If you’re a Co-op member and the address linked to your membership is within 15 miles of our Hertford office (SG14 1AX), you should be able to choose Carers in Hertfordshire as the charity to benefit from the Fund. Then whenever you buy a Co-op branded product at any Co-op store, 1% of what is spent is given as a donation. Donations are also received for other Co-op services such as Co-op Funeralcare

The 12-month partnership runs until the end of October 2020 and Clare Campbell, who looks after communications and marketing for Carers in Hertfordshire, said: “We’re pleased to be chosen to receive continued support from the Co-op Local Community Fund and would welcome Co-op members selecting us as the charity to benefit from donations from their shopping if they haven’t already done so. Your donations would enable us to meet the growing demand for carers and organisations that provide services to carers to receive our bi-annual magazine Carewaves.”

Clare continued: “The magazine helps to keep carers informed and to reduce isolation. It is packed with details of courses, events and support groups they can attend, updates about services they access, useful contact numbers, any changes to benefits or legal issues related to caring and more. It also features carer stories – carers tell us they find it helpful learning from each other.”

The nearest Co-op food store to our Hertford office is in Fleming Crescent, Hertford, although, there are plenty of branches throughout Hertfordshire.

You can find out more about the initiative and how to become a Co-op member if you are not already one at or phone 0800 023 4708. For our cause page visit
