Carers in Hertfordshire is thrilled to have been chosen as Sainsbury’s Watford (Cow Lane) store’s Local Charity of the Year – thank you to customers and staff for voting for us.

Linda Cudmore, our Community Fundraising Lead , said: “Being chosen as Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year is an acknowledgement by the local community of the valued contribution the charity has made over the last 22 years to ensure children and adults in the county who care for someone, unpaid, are identified and supported.”

Linda continued: “This is a great opportunity to raise the profile of carers and the vital role they have and we look forward to working with the store to raise awareness and funds to support our work in making carers count!”

She also thanked people who supported us in the seven other Hertfordshire Sainsbury’s stores where we were short-listed to be Local Charity of the Year.

We held our first event at the end of August with an information stand and store collection, and look forward to staff and customers supporting us over the 12 month partnership. We will keep you updated about when we will be in store as part of the partnership.
