Do have views about the process of getting an adult Autism diagnosis in Hertfordshire? Would you like to express your view about the sort of support that should be available after diagnosis?

Our speaker will be Tara Mullaney, Mental Health Commissioning Manager who is part of the integrated Health and Care Commissioning Team. Tara will talk about the Hertfordshire Autism Review, which will:

  • Undertake a review of current waiting lists and see how waiting times can be reduced.
  • The experience of those who are waiting for a diagnosis.
  • Understand how a diagnosis of autism impacts on a person’s life.
  • Look at experiences of accessing health, social care and education services for a person on the autism spectrum and how this can be improved.
  • Make recommendations about support available to people following diagnosis and make it more accessible.
  • Improve understanding of autism amongst health care professionals.

Transport Guidance

Following consultation with carers, Carers in Hertfordshire have updated their policy on offering transport to their events. Carers told us we should not be spending more than £50 a journey for an individual, so we will be using this guidance in the future when considering transport options. We are happy to reimburse expenses incurred for using public transport to travel to an event.
