Thursday 13 July 2023, 1.30pm to 3.00pm We will be serving tea/coffee, sandwiches, and fruit from 1.00pm The County Council has now nearly finished work on developing the new Short Breaks strategy – which includes overnight respite stays for adults with a learning disability. The strategy lays out what they want to provide and then the next step will be how the services will be delivered. We have asked Matthew Peirce, the Deputy Head of Service in the Community Commissioning team, who has led this work, to come and present the strategy to us before it is finalised. This is to give carers the chance to find out what is being put forward and to say what they think about the strategy. Matthew will also outline the action plan to deliver it. Overnight respite is an important service for lots of families so if this is something you use or would like to use.
