  If your caring commitments mean you can’t join a group in the day, our Evening Group is perfect for you! Meet with other carers, share information, support each other and chat over a cuppa.

  A focused discussion on Assistive Technology led by staff from Hertfordshire County Council –  how it can support you and the people you look after.

  What is Assistive Technology (AT)?

  AT is a new service which consists of small, discrete sensors placed around a person’s home to collect data which is displayed in an easy to read dashboard.  This is to help social care professionals and family carers identify and respond to any incidents, emergencies or changes to a person’s normal routine.  AT covers both emergency alerts where the person requires immediate assistance and preventative alerts which can identify changes to a resident’s health and wellbeing at an early stage.  The benefits could include enabling someone to live independently in their own home for longer and much greater reassurance for family members.  AT has shown to best support:  People who live alone, those with early cognitive impairment, people who might need some extra support following a hospital stay, those who are frail/ at risk of falls or family and friend carers who are looking for extra reassurance and support.

  The County Council is very keen to get a wide range of views and will be offering a £15 Gift Voucher to all attendees.
