Our work supporting young carers has been shortlisted for a national award

We are delighted that our work providing information and support to young carers and their families is in the running for a national award.

Our Young Carers Service has been shortlisted for the Young Carers Award in the 2023 Children & Young People Now Awards. We are up against four organisations / projects and will learn if we have won in late November 2023, when the awards ceremony takes place in London.

Our Young Carers Service provides activities and opportunities for young carers to get together, have a break from caring and try something new or develop their skills or knowledge. Through our work we aim to improve physical and mental health, boost confidence and reduce isolation. Young carers are involved in co-producing our programme of activities, such as an annual Young Carers’ Conference, and information about help and services.

We also give young carers the chance to have their views and experiences heard by organisations that commission or provide services that they or the people they care for use. Their input can help shape services so they better meet their needs.
