Caring for Carers Support Group
Group for anyone who cares for someone with mental health problems living in the South West Hertfordshire area (Watford, Bushey, Three Rivers and Hertsmere).  The group meets on the last Monday of the month between 7-9pm at Guideposts Trust, Henry Smith House, 3-5 Estcourt Road, Watford.  Call 01923 223554 for more details.

Bishop's Stortford Carers Group (Carers UK)
The group meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 2-4pm at Friends Meeting House, Stansted Mountfitchet.  Call 1371 875810 or email uttlesford@carers.entadsl.com for more details.

Cheshunt and Waltham Cross Carers Support Group
This support group is run by Age Concern Hertfordshire, Adult Care Services and Community Psychiatric Nurses from Chase Farm Hospital.  It is specifically for carers looking after someone with Alzheimer's or dementia.  It is held at Stanhope Clinic in Waltham Cross on the 3rd Tuesday of each month between 1.15pm-2.45pm.

Harlow MIND
Carer Support meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month from 6pm-8pm at Harlow MIND office, Latton Bush Centre, Southern Way, Harlow for carers of people experiencing a mental illness.

Alzheimer's Society, East Herts Support Group
Meets in the Garden Room at Ware Priory every second Monday of the month for 10.30am-12noon.

Alzheimer's Society, Bishop's Stortford
Meets on the second Thursday of the month at Apton Road Day Centre at 7pm.
Contact Mary on 01279 654234, evenings up to 9.30pm.

Has someone you care for had a stroke?
A new support group has been set up for carers of someone who has suffered a stroke.  It takes place in St Albans on the first Tuesday of every month from 1-2pm but carers do not have to live in St Albans to access the group - it is open to anyone who can get themselves there.

Group for people with Parkinson's Disease and their carers
The Lea Valley Parkinson's Support Group was set up in Spring 2006 to provide social contact and information on coping with the condition.  It's members are principally from the Cheshunt, Broxbourne, Hoddesdon and Ware areas.
Meetings are held around once a month at a Grundy Park Leisure Centre, Cheshunt.  A small charge has recently been introduced to cover the expenses of running the group.  There is usually a talk by a visiting speaker followed by discussion on a variety of topics.

Support group for Carers in Borehamwood
A new support group has been set up for carers of people with learning disabilities who attend the Borehamwood Multipurpose Day Centre.

ADD-vance: New support group in Ware for ADHD and ASD
To be held at The Family Centre, Park Road, Ware on 3rd Thursday of every month from 7.30-9.30pm.

ChatSS (in association with CHIPS) for parents of children with special needs
Informal friendly group supporting parents/carers of children with a wide range of special needs. Held at Hertford Methodist Church, Ware Road, Hertford from 1.30-2.30pm on the 3rd Thursday of every month during term time.

Breathe Easy Groups
There are local Breathe Easy groups which provide information, support and friendship to all people living with a lung condition, their family, friends and carers.
Watford: The group meets on 2nd Wednesday of the month at Heathdene Manor, Grandfield Avenue (off Langley Road) from 2pm.  For more information contact Graham Murphy on 01923 468806.
Dacorum: The group meets on 2nd Monday of the month at Hanover Green (St John's Road, Boxmoor) in the community hall from 2pm.  For more information contact June Sinclair on 01442 254806.

CommonSENse Harpenden
A friendly support group for parents and carers of children with Special Needs.  Everyone is welcome from Harpenden, St Albans and the surrounding areas.  The group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 7.45-9.15pm at The League of Friends Room, Harpenden Memorial Hospital, Carlton Road, Harpenden.

Dacorum and District Mental Health Support Group
An informal and friendly group for relatives/carers supporting people with mental health problems.  Meetings are usually held on the first Thursday of the month 8-10pm.

The Guidepost Trust, Watford
The Guidepost Trust is one of the biggest providers of services to people with mental health problems in South West Herts and is based at: Henry Smith House, 3-5 Estcourt Road, Watford WD17 2PT.  They run a monthly Carer's Support group in Watford on the last Monday of the month 7-9pm.
