Ware Joggers has chosen Carers in Hertfordshire as its Charity of the Year and particularly wants to support young carers.
We’re delighted that a new partnership with Ware Joggers club will help us stride forward in raising awareness and funds.

Ware Joggers Charity Partnership

Margaret Waddingham, Club Secretary, said: “I chose to support Carers in Hertfordshire because they focus on helping people, including youngsters, to realise that they are carers. This then means they get the advice and support they need or are entitled to, in order to lighten their load and make their caring role easier. The charity provides a range of support such as providing information and running workshops and days out, that make a difference to unpaid carers.”

To help raise awareness and funds the club has invited the charity to be part of their Ware Carnival celebrations on Saturday 4th July as they join the parade and also have a stand with a treasure hunt style game. During the year they also raise funds through a Jogathon, quiz nights, cake sales at race days, raffles and more. Previous Charity of the Year partnerships have raised thousands of pounds for the charity being supported.

Carole Whittle, our Health and Wellbeing Manager who works with young carers, said: “This partnership with Ware Joggers is a fantastic opportunity to raise funds as well as awareness for Carers in Hertfordshire and our work with carers, including children who look after a family member. The money raised will help young carers have the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation, have fun and be supported to ensure their horizons are not limited by caring.”

If you are interested in running, the club will welcome you to join them. You can find out more about Ware Joggers at
