Caring with Confidence

The Caring with Confidence programme started last November in four locations in Hertfordshire and has met with very good feedback from the 100 carers who have attended these sessions so far. The new days and dates for upcoming sessions are here - please call for more details.

Caring with Confidence

As a carer, how many times have you made a statement such as ‘if only I had known how to.....’. There is now a programme which will help you to gain knowledge and share your experience in a practical way with other carers. The Caring with Confidence Programme has been designed with the help of carers to support all unpaid adult carers, from those who are new to their caring role, right through to experienced carers who want to build on their skills.

The programme is made up of 7 interactive group sessions which will be hosted by trained facilitators from Carers in Hertfordshire, Crossroads Care and Age Concern. They will cover a wide range of topics, which will help you:

Build on your strengths as a carer
Share experiences and learn from others in similar situations
Get useful information ideas and tips about looking after someone
Decide what you might like to change about your caring role

The first session called ‘Finding Your Way’, which gives an introduction to Caring with Confidence and an opportunity to start exploring some of the essentials of caring. It is preferable, but not imperative, that carers attend this first session - some have found that they attend the other sessions and then catch up with a 'Finding Your Way' session later on.
